I had a stroke while riding my bike in April 05. I lost use
of my right arm and leg. I have had some recovery but I still am unable to work.
I had to sell my bike to pay off the loan on it. If there is anyone out there
that could help a disabled and broke Biker
get back in the wind with a trike or a bike with a side
car, I would be forever grateful. Please

Rolling Thunder honors troops for 22nd year -
Washington Times - An estimated 500,000 motorcyclists rolled into
Washington this year for the 22nd annual Rolling Thunder Ride for Freedom.
Sunday's ride began about noon from the Pentagon to the Vietnam Veterans
Memorial and caused the closing of some streets between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
WTOP-FM reported that motorcyclists have come from every state and as far away
as Australia.
Artie Muller, a Vietnam veteran and national executive director of Rolling
Thunder Inc., said participants were uniting to bring full accountability for
prisoners of war and those missing in action from all wars.
"They fought the war so we could live the way we do, and it's about time our
government did something on that issue," Mr. Muller said.
Members also are calling for better health care for recently returned troops.
Jay Fairlamb, a Vietnam veteran, who rolled in from New Jersey, told the radio
station that he participated just as he has done for the past 13 years.
"It's the same message every year; sooner or later, I hope it gets out," he
said. "I'd rather be home celebrating with my family and grandkids, but not
before we bring home all our POWs and MIAs."
President Bush had met with members of Rolling Thunder in the White House
driveway while he was in office, but President Obama was not expected to greet
the group this year.
However, on Friday afternoon, he surprised Rolling Thunder and met privately
with its representatives, who were meeting with administration officials about
veterans' issues.
Although members are usually thought of as veterans riding motorcycles, they do
not have to be either a veteran or a biker. According to the organization,
Rolling Thunder members volunteer their time to remind "the government, the
media and the public by our watchwords: 'We will not forget.' " Many of the
members are veterans of the Vietnam War.
The name comes from Operation Rolling Thunder, a lengthy and dangerous bombing
campaign by the U.S. Air Force and Navy and the air force of South Vietnam
against North Vietnam from March 2, 1965, to Nov. 1, 1968.

Deadly motorcycle accidents in Chicago area - ESPN - May
24, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Memorial Day weekend has proved to be deadly on
Chicago area roads for motorcyclists. Three separate accidents have claimed the
lives of five people riding motorcycles.
Two people were killed and four others were injured after four motorcycles
crashed in south suburban Oak Forest. ABC7 Chicago learned late Sunday that a
third person died as a result of injuries following that multi-vehicle crash on
Interstate 57.
State police say a biker was heading southbound on I-57 near 185th Street
Saturday night. They say he entered an emergency turnaround to go back north
when three other motorcycles, also heading north, crashed into him.
Michael Adams, 47, of Kankakee, and 34-year-old Sean Darke of Chicago's South
Side were killed. Brianna Moore, 20, of Calumet City was a passenger on one of
the motorcycles and died Sunday afternoon. Friends and family members are
struggling with the loss.
Story continues below
"He was crazy about riding. He would jump out of his car and jump onto his bike
and ride. He loved to ride. He was an experienced rider," said Ernest Wilson,
Sean Darke's neighbor.
"He was a good dad. He taught me everything I know. He took care of all me and
my brothers and sisters. I didn't want for nothing," said Michael Adam's son,
also named Michael Adams.
Another biker was in critical condition and two were in stable condition Sunday.
The motorcycle rider who made the u-turn survived and received two tickets
Police say the drivers were wearing helmets, and speed was a contributing factor
to the cause of the crash.
Bulldog Bash to go ahead after Warwickshire Police objection fails -
The Birmingham Post - Organisers of a major biker
festival are jubilant after police objections were rejected. Warwickshire Police
said last week it was to seek a review of the Bulldog Bash’s licence because of
concerns about “rising levels of violence between criminal members of motorcycle
gangs”.
The objection came after Hells Angel Gerry Tobin was shot dead after the event
in 2007. But organisers said a bid to scrap the event, at Long Marston Airfield
from August 6-9, was rejected by Stratford-upon-Avon District Council.
Patriarch of Russia – and former biker- RT - Russia’s

speed”. The leader of the country’s largest bikers’ association, Night Wolves,
told the church head about their patriotic activity.
The head of the Russian Orthodox church has met with Aleksandr Zaldostanov,
who’s better known by his nickname ““Surgeon”, and surprised him with stories
about his love for motorcycles.
Police: U-turn leads to fatal motorcycle crash -
Chicago Tribune - OAK FOREST, Ill. - Illinois State Police say two
motorcyclists have died in suburban Chicago after another motorcyclist allegedly
made an illegal U-turn.
Police say the accident occurred Saturday night on I-57 near Oak Forest when a
southbound biker tried to turn around using an area reserved for emergency
vehicles. That rider then hit three northbound motorcycles.
The male biker who made the turn survived. He's charged with disobeying a
traffic control device.
The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the two who died as
47-year-old Michael Adams of Kankakee and 34-year-old Sean Darke of Chicago. Two
female passengers were seriously hurt.
In Kane County earlier Saturday, a separate accident killed two motorcyclists
and injured six other people.
