I had a stroke while riding my bike in April 05. I lost use of my right arm and leg. I have had some recovery but I still am unable to work. I had to sell my bike to pay off the loan on it. If there is anyone out there that could help a disabled and broke Biker get back in the wind with a trike or a bike with a side car, I would be forever grateful. Please Email Frank I would like to thank my family, friends, and my Biker brothers and sisters for all the support. Thank you, and God Bless you all. Ride for the Red benefited Red Cross - WFIE-TV - EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The weather was perfect for Ride for the Red, a motorcycle ride for the Red Cross.
Helping out at the fundraiser was Willie Ruckman.
Ruckman is a survivor of the EF3 tornado that ripped through the Eastbrook mobile home park in November 2005.
Saturday, Ruckman said he's giving back to the Red Cross for helping him get back on his feet after losing everything.
"It's strange to be a volunteer and helping people, then suddenly you become a client," Ruckman said. "That's what happened in my situation, and that's what motivates me to organize this fundraiser."
The event raised $2,000 Saturday.
That money will benefit the five local chapters in the Tri-State.

Nam Knights honored for charitable work - Sun newspapers - ENGLEWOOD — When U.S. Army National Guardsman Michael Sughrue received two presidential medals to award as he saw fit, he took the time to meet with area service organizations before making his decision.
The presidential award was to go to civilian groups that help the military, said Sughrue, who served in Afghanistan as a warrant officer with the 240th engineer group out of Bangor, Maine, before retiring to Florida.
Sughrue held on to the medals for more than two years before choosing the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Nam Knights Motorcycle Club as a worthy recipient of one of them.
Locally, the Nam Knights has 25 members, half Vietnam veterans and half retired law enforcement.
Eighteen members came to the awards ceremony at the group's headquarters, a waterfront home in a quiet Englewood neighborhood with stunning views from the back porch. The group meets here monthly, using space donated by the homeowner for Nam Knight activities.
Members have served in all branches, from the Coast Guard and the Air Force to the Marines and the Army.
All share a desire to help veterans and other deserving causes. Recipients of the funds they raise include Southeastern Guide Dogs and the Haley House Fund for veterans. The group, which also sends packages to Iraq, supports local families in need and gives to local schools, has raised $20,000 in the last four years.
"It makes us feel good that we're doing that, said John "Mad Dog" Rancourt, who serves as road chaplain for the bikers.
Sughrue said he spent a lot of time observing the activities of area organizations, including the Moose and the VFW, before choosing the Nam Knights.
"I think it's really important to give it to a group that will appreciate it," he said. "Not throw it in a drawer somewhere. You guys are the most supportive I've seen. They're here to ride motorcycles and support this country." Rancourt said he was looking for "a club to ride with good intentions" after moving to Florida.
"This group proved to be one of the best in the community," he said. "I like they way they pay it forward."
He describes the Nam Knights' activities as threefold: to collect money, to give money away and to ride motorcycles.
Club uniforms are denim jeans and blue or black vests, standard throughout the national organization of about 900 members. On the back of the vests is the Nam Knights logo, the letters "MC" for motorcycle club, and a dragon. The vest front bears the owner's branch of service, a memory patch in honor of the fallen, and the wearer's nickname, or road name.
All members have road names, such as Mango, Nitecap, Jimmy the Fish, Lowball, Scar and Rebar.
Gary "White Boy" Ericson (he rides a white motorcycle) joined the club because "it's taking care of the brothers," he said.
