Motorcyclist dies after collision -

A Tucson man was killed when his motorcycle
collided with a barrier on Arizona 83 on
Sunday near Sonoita.
Adam Dunkel, 31, was driving south on the
highway when he was thrown off his
motorcycle after colliding with the barrier.
The accident southeast of Tucson occurred at
about 6:40 a.m. No cause was released as the
collision remains under investigation,
according to the Department of Public Safety
Beaver Dams man killed in motorcycle

Journal - A Beaver Dams man was
killed Saturday when his motorcycle collided
with a car.
The accident took place around 10 p.m. on
state Route 224 in the town of Catharine,
according to Schuyler County sheriff's
deputies.
Scott A. Palmer, 39, of Buck Hollow Road in
Beaver Dams, was westbound on Route 224 when
he collided with a vehicle operated by
Gregory Rouleau, 44, of Moss Hill Road in
Horseheads, deputies said.
Palmer, who was thrown from his bike by the
impact, was airlifted to Robert Packer
Hospital in Sayre, where he was pronounced
dead. Rouleau and a passenger were treated
at Schuyler Hospital for minor injuries and
released.
The investigation into the accident is
ongoing. The sheriff's office was assisted
at the scene by the Odessa Fire Department,
Schuyler County Volunteer Ambulance and
State Police.

North Ridgeville man critically injured in
motorcycle accident -

NORTH RIDGEVILLE — A North Ridgeville man is
listed in critical condition at MetroHealth
Medical Center in Cleveland after his
motorcycle collided with another vehicle on
Westfield Drive on Saturday.
Jeff R. Jarvis, 37, was traveling westbound
on Westfield Drive on his 2007 Harley
Davidson motorcycle when he collided with a
2005 Dodge Durango.
Jarvis was not wearing a helmet, according
to a press release provided by North
Ridgeville police.
Jarvis was taken to MetroHealth by Life
Flight Saturday afternoon.
No additional information regarding the
accident was being released by police
because the accident is still under
investigation.
Connecticut man was seriously injured -

44-year-old Connecticut man was seriously
injured when he lost control while driving a
motorcycle at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Maurice P. Andrien III, of 44 Ellsworth
Lane, Canton, Conn., was heading north on
Sheep Pasture Road when he lost control of
his motorcycle on a curve. He received
serious injuries and was taken to Baystate
Medical Center by helicopter, said Southwick
Police Sgt. Richard L. Cross.
His passenger, who was not named, received
minor injuries and was brought to a hospital
by ambulance. Cross was unsure which
hospital treated the passenger.
The accident is under investigation.

OF CATHERINE - The Schuyler County Sheriff's
Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle
crash Saturday night.
The sheriff's office says 39 year old Scott
Palmer of Beaver Dams was riding his
motorcycle westbound on State Route 224 when
he collided with a car in the Town of
Catherine at about 10pm.
The car was being driven by Gregory Rouleau
of Horseheads. Authorities say Palmer was
thrown from his motorcycle.
They say Palmer was taken to the hospital
where succumbed to his injuries and was
pronounced dead.
The driver of the car, Rouleau, and a second
passenger were treated for minor injuries at
a local hospital.
FHP: Motorcyclist Hits Trailer, Dies -

Fla. -- A 28-year-old Cocoa man was killed
early Sunday morning after his speeding
motorcycle collided with a boat trailer, the
Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Christopher D. Welford was pronounced dead
at the site of the crash, which occurred at
2:15 a.m. on state Road 528 near mile marker
52, troopers said.
According to the FHP, Welford was driving a
2007 Suzuki motorcycle westbound in the
outside lane at speeds exceeding the 55 mph
posted limit. He approached a 1999 Ford
Explorer towing a boat driven by 41-year-old
Orlando resident Martin A. Pastrana, who was
driving at or near the speed limit, the FHP
report said.
Welford's bike struck the right rear of
Pastrana's trailer and boat, and he was
ejected, troopers said.
Red Wing man, 23, seriously injured in crash

A Red Wing man remained in critical
condition after his motorcycle pulled out in
front of traffic Thursday and was struck
broadside on Highway 61 in rural Goodhue
County.
The driver of the motorcycle, Mark D.
Larson, 23, was being treated Sunday at St.
Marys in Rochester after the two-vehicle
crash. He had pulled over onto the shoulder
before re-entering traffic at about 4:37
p.m. in front of a pickup truck carrying
three passengers, according to the Minnesota
State Patrol. The other driver, Michelle
Glander, 36, Lake City, and her passengers –
all of whom were seatbelted – were unharmed
in the crash, troopers said.
Larson was not wearing a helmet, according
to reports. It was unknown if alcohol was a
factor.
Queensbury crash kills motorcyclist -

QUEENSBURY -- A motorcyclist was pronounced
dead after being struck by a delivery truck
Sunday just south of the Adirondack Park
Preserve.
Jonathan C. Howland, 27, of Lake George, was
headed southbound on Bay Road near Ellsworth
Road in Queensbury, Warren County Sheriffs
said. At 1:56 p.m., Michael St. John, 30,
from Corinth made a left turn in the truck,
knocking Howland off the bike and then
dragging him, police said.
Howland was taken to Glens Falls Hospital by
the Bay Ridge Rescue Squad, where he was
pronounced dead. No tickets were issued and
traffic safety police are investigating.
Man On Motorcycle Collides With
Wife's SUV -

-- A 37-year-old North Ridgeville man is in
serious condition after the motorcycle on
which he was riding collided with his wife's
SUV outside their home.
North Ridgeville police said that Jeff R.
Jarvis was westbound on Westfield Drive on
his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he
collided with his wife's 2005 Dodge Durango.
Jarvis was not wearing a helmet.
He was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center.
Witnesses said Jarvis was driving home when
his wife blocked an area near the couple's
driveway with her vehicle.
Jarvis tried to get around the SUV, but
struck it, causing him to fall off the
motorcycle.
Witnesses said the couple fought a lot.
The crash is under investigation.
Lake George man dies in motorcycle
accident - Glens
Falls Post-Star - QUEENSBURY -- A
motorcyclist was killed Sunday in a
collision with a delivery truck around 2
p.m. along Bay Road.
Jonathan C. Howland, 27, of 103 Montcalm St.
in Lake George, was heading south on a 1981
Honda CB900 when a northbound delivery truck
for BAI Equipment Corp. turned left onto
Ellsworth Road in front of him, according to
the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Howland was struck, ejected off the
motorcycle and dragged by the truck, police
said. He was transported to Glens Falls
Hospital by the Bay Ridge Rescue Squad and
subsequently pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck was Corinth resident
Michael J. St. John, 30. He was traveling
with a passenger, Bounce Around employee
Vernon D. Marshall Jr., 20, of Fort Edward.
No tickets have been issued at this point
and the investigation is ongoing.
Ride to pay tribute to "Buster" Zimbro -

Motorcycle riders will pay tribute to James
"Buster" Zimbro with a ride before his
funeral services Tuesday.
Zimbro, 56 of Sesser, died Friday, July 3,
2009, following a motorcycle accident in
Marion. Survivors include his son Shad, who
is the co-owner of Black Diamond Harley
Davidson in Marion.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 7,
2009, at 1 p.m., at Brayfield-Gilbert
Funeral Home, 102 W. Callie, in Sesser with
Brother Dale Burzynski and Brother Mark
Miller officiating. Interment will be at
Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation
will begin at 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral
home.
According to those close to him, Buster's
passion for riding Harley-Davidson
motorcycles was surpassed only by his love
for his family and friends. In his honor,
all family and friends are welcome to join
him for a memorial ride to the gravesite.
Riders who are interested may depart with
the family for services at 11:30 a.m. on
Tuesday at Black Diamond Harley-Davidson.
UHP identifies motorcyclist killed in crash
- SUMMIT COUNTY - The Utah Highway Patrol
has identified a motorcyclist who died in
Parley's Canyon Friday.
Troopers say Charles Taylor of West Jordan
was driving east on I-80 near Jeremy Ranch
when a car swerved into his lane.
Taylor slammed on his breaks to avoid the
car, but didn't slow down in time. His bike
crashed into the back of the car, then
flipped several times. Taylor was thrown
from the motorcycle onto the road.
Emergency crews flew Taylor to the hospital,
where he died ten minutes after arrival.
Troopers say he was not wearing a helmet at
the time of the crash.
